Laci Turns 11 Months

Laci turned 11 months on 03/19/07. Laci now has 7 teeth and #8 is coming in as I write this. So she will have four on the top and four on the bottom. She has done so well with teething. Laci is picking up new words everyday. It is so funny because she will study your face so intently when you speak with her and speak slowly. Her vocabulary words now include:

Dada
Momma
Dog
Cat
book
no no
uh-oh
go

I have taught her to shake her head no. We are now working on shaking her head yes. She is learning how to wave but needs to learn to turn her hand around and wave out not at herself. She drinks out of her sippee cup but she still loves her bottle. Need to start working on breaking her from that.

I have started working with Laci on eating on her own (finger foods). On weekends, (because she takes so long to eat) she get pancakes. I've given her peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. What a mess!! She does pretty good, spaghetti, cake and icecream (preparing her for her birthday), sugar free pudding. She loves mashed potatoes. I still can't get her to eat a banana, she likes the baby food banana but not real ones.

She learned to walk at 10 months and is doing very well at it. She's still not running but I am not in any rush for that.

She sleeps very well, she usually goes down around 8:30 and if we let her will sleep till about 9 on weekends. On weekdays, I have to get her up around 6:45am and let me tell you she is not a morning person, just like her Mommy. She is very tearful in the mornings and wants to be held if you wake her up. Laci has always done well and never needed a pacifier nor does she suck her thumb (knock on wood).

She is finally starting to hug her stuffed animals and will give them kisses but Mommy and Daddy aren't as lucky. She will give hugs but no kisses yet!! :-(

In the evening after dinner we sit on the floor with her and she loves to play with this huge ball she has that she can barely carry. She loves to carry it to Jeff and I. We have play time for about an hour than it's "JamJam Jammy Time". She gets her bath and jammies on, dry her hair, clip her nails, brush her teeth and gets her bed time bottle. Once she is done she's put to bed and she lays right down. Ahhhhh time for Mommy and Daddy!

Is it summer yet?

This post is a couple weeks old but better late than never. The weather around here is getting warmer. Jeff has had a few chances to get the old cycle out and ride to work. A couple days Cindy was able to drive home from work with the top down. AND two weeks ago we all went swimming! Stoney Creek Swim Club here in Noblesville has Friday Night Family Swim Night. We took Laci to get her reacclimated to the water. She was a little clingy at first by she picked it right back up. Unfortunately we had to leave early because she had a fever. She was cutting tooth #7. All's well now!

Watch me Walk

That's right at 10 1/2 months Laci is walking. She kinda been walking when she wanted to but late last week she just took off and she hasn't stopped since. She loves walking. She's so cute and so little. She's also climbing step. Oh Boy our lives will never be the same.

10 Months and Counting

Laci turned 10 months on 02/19/07. She is growing up so fast. She is really starting to interact with us. She says mama and dada and something that sounds like dog and kitty cat. She says GO and no no and shakes her head no. She plays patty cake clapping her hands. She loves to look at books at the babysitters. We are going to check into getting some swimming lessons for her before summer.

She still only has 6 teeth and she is learning to drink out of her sippee cup. We give her ice water with her dinner. Yesterday we put some flavored carbonated water in her sippee cup. Wow, if you have never done that try it and watch the water come shooting out. We won't be doing that again. Laci still is so good at bedtime, once she has her bottle she lays right down and goes to sleep. May we always be this fortunate.

Laci is an absolute joy. Jeff and I love her so much and we have so enjoyed watching her grow up. At times I think about her turning 1 year and I just want to cry. How will I ever be able to send her off on a school bus!!
